Beach Photography
by Angela Oliver
When setting up for a beach photography shoot, there are
some key shots to take to add to a portfolio. It is important to
have all the right gear when doing beach photography including the
right lenses and waterproofing gear. With all the gear in place,
it's time to get some great shots.
Wildlife - One of the most enticing
things about beach photography is the promise of abundant wildlife.
Not only are terrestrial creatures all over the beach, but the aquaculture
is fascinating as well. Great wildlife focuses include birds, crabs,
fish, and other creatures unique to the area. Wildlife shots require
patience and can sometimes require an entire day of shooting for
the perfect shot.
Nature - Along with wildlife, beach photography has some
of the best scenes nature has to offer. Whether it's a beautiful
sunset or sunrise, a moon cresting the horizon, a palm tree swaying
in the ocean breeze, there are opportunities everywhere. Time lapse
photography is great way to capture nature and capture unique images.
The gear is considerably more expensive and the technique is highly
specialized.
Water - Of course, water is everywhere when you're at the
beach. There is also an abundance of sand. Some great shots come
from the combination of waves and shore living harmoniously together.
An underwater camera is also a necessity when doing any type of
beach or water photography. Underwater shots can often help to produce
interesting graphical, artistic photographs.
It is difficult to go to the beach and not get some great pictures.
It may take a little time and patience, but when you're on the beach,
what else do you have to do?
